The magnificent green valley of Ouirgane is located about an hour from Marrakech, hidden at the foot of Mount Toubkal. On Tuesdays and Saturdays you can visit the Tahanout souk before heading through the gorges of the Ghezaia River to Asni, famous for its amethyst, for a packed lunch in a wonderful mountain scenery.

There are still some active salt mines in the Ouirgane area.

Asni boasts an interesting red-walled Kasbah and is the first Berber village to be found on the road from Marrakech to the Tizi-n-Test Pass. Asni is surrounded by orchards and there are several mule tracks that go up the plateau.

In the afternoon back to Marrakech and drop-off to your hotel.
